Spreading the warm and fuzzies

Winter is definitely here. I know, because as soon as I step outside, he wraps his freezing bony little fingers around my face and says "'ow do ye like that, luv, eh? Eh?" in a terrible Oliver-Twist-style cockney accent. I try to use my Big Green Coat and Super Long Scarf defences against him, and it seems to keep him at bay most of the time.

Still only one postcard in the metaphorical box, but there is another on the way, I'm told. It's nice seeing people react to receiving them (and by 'seeing', I mean by ways of the world wide web). I've had a few honour it in the form of a Facebook status update - all vague as hell, which is good for the intrigue. One person said they opened the letter and saw their own face staring back at them, immediately eliciting the thought "holy shit, I've got a stalker. How did they get my address??Crap, that's so creepy. I better change my locks and-- oh no wait it's just Dee". One of my friends asked if I could write their eulogy when the time comes, and another was so moved by the letter that "it nearly made me cry like a big wuss bag". Isn't it nice spreading the warm and fuzzies? Nurture the love, folks. Nurture the love.

Speaking of nurturing love, congratulations are due for Kat & Alex who got engaged 2 weeks ago, and Carla & Jez who have managed to make a little person and it is currently 4.5 cm long and inside of Carla (technically I'm not meant to tell but nobody is reading here so its ok).

Will report again once we've uprooted and made it safely to Summer Hill.

Halfway mark

We're moving to Summer Hill in 2 weeks! I'm so excited! It's a sweet little unit with polished floorboards and a lovely little sunroom and enough size for one Me and one Husband. Awesomeness abounds.

Meanwhile, time is slipping away on the postcard front... but I'm halfway there! Here's five more to get us to the Fifteen mark.

Disturbances

As usual, I have been distracted. Sorry. I could keep making excuses about how time-consuming making postcards and writing letters is, but it makes for mildly tedious blogging. I will instead note that one has arrived back - hoorah! Just one, though. Aaaand I still have more to send out. But Mum just sent me a bunch of photos from my past that I can use. Good going.

As for the rest of my life as a 28-year old, it's a bit of a rollercoaster. My band keeps getting booked for gigs and then the venues turn around and say "oh sorry, actually we're total jerks. Would it be ok if we didn't pay you/ closed down temporarily only to reopen in just enough time to make you freak out about your transport and accommodation / decide to change the date of your gig because we've decided to do some repairs? Cool!" Seriously, screw you music industry.

Our lovely old sharehouse in Stanmore is disbanding after 2-ish years. It was great while it lasted, but I'm so fricking excited about actually living in a house alone with my husband that rainbows might fly out of my eyes. It sucks for our savings plan and our budget has just gone out the window, but I don't care much. It's going to be super awesome. The next month's worth of house hunting, however, perhaps not so awesome. We're looking at a couple of places this week and hopefully it will all be over relatively quickly and painlessly. Time is of the essence, as we're due to be out of there before July.

It's slightly annoying that I just sent out a bunch of postcards with my old address on them, but that's what postal redirection is for, right?
